Can They:

I stand and feel the wind go by
and watch the rustling of the leaves.
I know there is a God because
he made every one of the trees.
Did all the stars in the sky get in
their places from one big boom?
No, God hung them one by one,
like we would decorate a room.
I know scientists have pulled
my DNA apart by every strain.
Now let's see if they can make
a woman out of a rib from a man.
Can they give her a soul and have
her bear new life from within?
Will she know right from wrong
so she won't have to face her sins?
Why do they try and make me believe
things that I know are not so?
When I die I have no doubt I will have
a much better place to go?

I remember this poem, Ellis. I love the rhythm and the flow and I love the ponderings...

It's beautiful.

Ah, those burning creation questions.
All are theories, n none really know all the facts, for only one apple of knowledge was eaten, n the tree was full of fruit...

I'm with you and Blue Bunny - I think God hung all the stars one by one, too. Love the poem, Ellis.

I'm with everyone else Ellis, I love this poem too. I believe He hung the stars and the moon just as a Daddy leaves on a nightlight for his children.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem,
Elizabeth

Well, this one just tubles gracefully and greatfully out, questing the questionable, stating its truth. It feels like it came from the marrow of your bones. Nicely done, Ellis. Thank you!

Scientists have checked me for all sorts of diseases. Can they make a hot sexy man out of my cheek swab?

And I’m not talking about the money.

Jewel:
I have to say yes to both of those. Well not the beautiful poem that is up to you but the other two yes.

Falen:
There is both of each and each of both.
But it comes down to what we want to see.

Sara:
From this old geezer that can’t dance thanks.
