The Wedge:

Is my heart
as dark as night
full of hate,
gloom and fright

No small glow has
shone from within
or given love,
To foe or friend

Have I done
anything at anytime
to change this
black heart of mine

It helped me drive
between us this wedge
Is this cold heart,
of mine now dead?

I think the saddest thing is when someone knows their attitude is causing pain, but they do little to change it.

Great poem, Ellis.

A heart full of hate. Very descriptive poem, Ellis.

So true but (I just love that word)if they open their eyes and see it then start trying to change that's good. Not all change happens over night.

Okay, as long as your not wanting to like cut it out of me. Thanks

Well, I suppose everyone has a bit of attitude sometimes. It's the human condition, but this doesn't sound like you. It's a good poem, but you must be writing about someone else.

Okay, with all I've been writing myself, I seem to have lost the tread. Am going to have to come back latter and reread some of the prior excepts and then this one again. Sounds good though.

Later, Ellis.

You’re right, not about me or anyone I know I’m just writing.
Not all my poems have anyone in mind. Not all from my heart.
Just (What’s in my head).

Jamiededes:
Only fair, you posted twice. Yes sometimes we get going so fast me meet ourselves coming and going.

Well, the poem is well done, but, like Talon, it makes me sad when someone can change and doesn't.

At least there's awareness that change is necessary:~)

And it is strange how some go back and forth.
