Okay for tonight’s post I thought I might do something a little different.
When I was up in my daughters attic painting the windows I had a board over the open area to keep wind and or rain out of the house until the paint could dry. I cleaned my brush off every now and then because there was a lot of glass in the window and I did not tape them off. To make a long story a lot shorter I was not paying attention to how I was wiping my brush off on the board. On the third window, I looked at the board and saw this miss of pant strokes. I saved it and showed it to my daughter and granddaughter. My nine-year-old granddaughter said. “Mom that’s the girl I told you I saw on the stairs the other day.” Now my family thinks, this is a picture of a ghost that lives in her house.
I like the picture and think it is only a bunch of paint that got slopped on a board.

You thought it was random brush strokes...but the ghost saw a perfect opportunity to reveal herself ;)
(and it looks like she's got some serious attitude!)
How on Earth could that be random?
Serious attitude indeed! Wow-
I think it was ghost inspired using your subconscious- Very interesting.
You could sell that board on Ebay...
Ellis! That is SO a ghost. And how cool that your granddaughter saw her. Wow.
I love the ghost portrait Ellis. I think you should finish it by framing.
How big is the board? Maybe it's too big, but either way it is definitely something to hold on to. Even though I also believe you can make a bundle on it on Ebay.
Wow -- you paint too!?
And you have a grand-daughter the same age as our kiddo? Cool!
I love you revealing these tidbits.
xoxo
Ellis -- I'm with your granddaughter on this one. That does look like a woman. I don't the ghost, but you definitely cleaned off your brushes and produced a picture of a woman.
Personally, I think that's cool. Maybe she'd needed to be seen and you gave her that opportunity.
Whatever the case, it is a very amazing picture!

as the one that was just wiping my brush I think it is a billion to one thing. But it seems I'm out numbered on it being a ghost.

Subconscious maybe but it was not my eyesight. EBay now if it was a ghost and I sent her off I would not like to think what would happen to me. If not a ghost I still painted it without looking so it will be mine till I die.

Will the kid was only 9 I always wonder if what we see from the corner of your eyes is real.

2x3 it covered up one of the windows in the attic. Now if it looked like their dead daughter and she died in that house maybe someone would pay me for it, but is that right? Still there is no proof it is a picture of a ghost.

No I do not paint portraits. I can do a tree or a rock, one time I painted a great picture of a snowstorm.
I have grand kids from 2 to 14.
Tidbits??

Yes it does to me too but like you I don’t either. I just wish I could have done it looking.
Ghosts are okay. All things aside, it's actually a rather nice portrait. I'm glad you posted it. And the story is intriguing.

I like nice Ghost. I thought I might post something different.
the ghost is kinda hot ;)
pretty freaky story though.

Story is true and she is now in the window at the foot of my bed. I think she is cute.
Hmm, might want to check the house isn't built on an ancient Indian burial ground....I'm just saying!!!

So you're going with ghost?
I took it to my house. Then would she come along with the picture or not?
As a life-long artist, I can't believe this wasn't painted as a woman's face. Nicely impressionistic rendering, but ghostly effort?...no evidence there. It is quite possible to wield a paint brush while thinking of something else and produce effects that you couldn't produce consciously. Children's imaginations are always active while adults look for hard copy.

like you with out looking with out thinking I know, I did it. But a ghost?
