Is War Needed:

Is any War needed is any Death right?
What is the price we pay to sleep safe at night?
Is any War good, just... or even true?
Who pays for our freedom I'm just asking you.

Was it my buddy on patrol with me that day?
Was it my Uncle who is long gone away?
Was it my old playmate, who is still not quite right?
Was it my husband my wife asks that wakes up screaming at night?

Was it the guy down the street, or that lady leaning on the wall?
They keep drinking to forget but they remember it all.
Was it the tin can walkers or the ones on the ground?
Was it the man in the plane dropping bombs upon towns?

I am just asking... though it's not fair to you,
please if you know, can you just tell me who.
Who paid for this freedom for me to openly say?
This War is unjust and should be stopped today.

See, if women ran the world there would be no wars, just a lot of bitch slapping and guilt tripping.

I have a theory - put more than three people in a space and there's guaranteed to be a conflict of one sort or another. Seems humans like to be "right" no matter how wrong that right is...

A good observation on war, Ellis!

You crack me up too Ellis, "Frigginloon:
Dam I think I'd rather go to war then get bitch slapped."

I'm all for peace, but...

Ellis -- This is a difficult topic. I kind of agree with Talon. It seems to human nature to fight and to do so regardless of the cost and I don't mean just money.

I always think of the quote, "What if someone gave a war and no one showed up?"

I guess that's not likely anytime soon.

Happy to make your day.
Without it no telling how or even if I’d be typing this.

If everyone would mind their own business Peace would be great YES

Sara:
If one did not try and take something from another would there be war? Let me think about that.

Count Sneaky:
Father and King. Thus I want to walk in my father’s shoes and do my Kings bidding. I to have thought they are too smart to show up here.

We must have war because people thing we must. As soon as we change our minds, it will all end. Peace is a decision.

Kudos to you, Ellis. Well done.

You’re 100% right if no one will try and tell another person what to do or say or what to believe or eat. There will be peace. I hope someday there is peace I’m just not going to hold my breath till then.

Hmmm... I think in different ways, we all pay! I was very anti-war during Viet Nam, but as I got older got more respect for all those who stand up for freedom, soldiers or not-
The war theme quote in my mind this year is:
"You can't make Peace with War"
- John Lennon

No you can only conquer. It is how you govern that makes peace.

You are so right. If we would just live and let live and not have to control every little thing ... Sigh! ... Someday, but as you say, not holding my breath right now. Just putting the thoughts out there. They are catching.

Have a good one, Ellis.
