Why did you leave me that night.
Taking my love.
Taking my hope.
Taking my will.
This heart of mine has needs.
To feel desire.
To feel closeness.
To feel happiness.
I long to be the only one.
In your thoughts.
In your dreams.
In your arms.

Alas, we never understand why
Perhaps we have done nothing wrong.
Loneliness is haunting,
New relationships daunting,
Trust paid at a premium,
Fidelity out of stock.
Their eyes stray,
Then they sneak away.
Selfish, lying, scum.
What you thought was good
Suddenly all done...
Ah yes, longing. Love is a powerful powerful thing that makes us pine away. No matter how many fish are in the sea, some are just to special to let go.
Xo
What the hell did you do this time???
The one left behind...you captured the emotions so well, Ellis.

Thanks I saw a lot of pain in his eyes.
Sweetly romantic, but how often romance turns to lonliness and misunderstanding ... and not knowing why ... seems like it should always be simple, but it never is.
Well poemed, dear Ellis.
Thanks for all you visits to my blog and your wise and witty comments. Enjoy much.
JamieDedes:
Thanks, Yes it never seems to go the way your heart thinks it should.
LOL as for wise and witty sometimes my witty is not so wise.
I hope that worked out - the longing is evident.
Lynn:

Sorry about the tears.
But Glad it touched you.
Love is blind, that is, we can never really know what is in the mind of the one to which we fasten our emotions.
We grant them our love without any reservation and hope that it will be reciprocated. Then we must make sure our own actions are consistent with that love. Even then...love is still blind as a bat.
Very sad for those still longing.
Count Sneaky:
True but we must open our eyes to hold one to what we seak.
