Lies:

We will never have our soul sealed
with lies we tell them that are real.
Not like a cat with nine lives-
you know a lie never dies.
All the little lies we try to tell-
we cover them till they grow and swell.
In all the stories we fill with lies
we lose the truth that lies inside.
We never see the tears that flowed,
in the heart of the one we turned cold.
Never again will the love be there-
this truth that we could not share.
We go on as if everything is all right-
we are at our best in the dark of night.
Little white lies that no one sees-
these lies are killing you and me.

Profound and true poem, Ellis. Lies just twist into more lies. Once again, thank you for sharing you fine poems.

Have a good evening.

I like the poem D-49, but I accidentally read this line: "you know a lie never dies" as "you know a liver never dies," and I felt really good because I drink a lot.

So now I'm confused. Can someone so stunning (as me) be dyslexic? Is there an ointment for that?

I so prefer there to be no need to lie! Sad how small children learn to lie to get out of trouble- I lied to my mother n now regret it.
I truelly hate finding out lies told to me, especially at work to use n placate me. I was told in March I'd get my Off Saturdays back so I could visit the Little ones, but apparently that was a lie! Darn Boss is a big liar-
Not as bad as a spouse liar tho! I used to have one, myself.

So true - little lies grow and swell. An apt description!

I used to have one of those, too, Snaggle. :)

My Mother always says a liar has to have a good memory. I think it's true. Dishonesty is a lot of hard work and it destroys trust which is such an important element in any relationship - even a relationship of self.

It is a shame they get bigger and bigger now matter how small they start out.

Vodka:
Sorry I missed you but found you.
Again a sorry for no ointment that I know of (not saying there's not, just none I know of). Dyslexic is good if you don't like what you read just change it and use the old I'm dyslexic card. I use the old I'm a dumb guy card all the time. You have no idea how many times it has saved me.

Snaggle:
Lies, lies, lies just little ones they don't hurt, or do they.

Lynn:
Never had one thank God.
Yet is sounds like you and Snaggle did not have any luck with the ones you had.

Your mother is a wise woman.
It seems you have taking after her.
Lies and self are soon parted.
