Your Touch:

Words from your lips holds
me tightly wrapped in your arms.
Your touch caresses my heart.
Those eyes keep me safe.
Your emotions embrace me.
That smile makes me strong.
Are all your words of love mine?
Dare I hope to keep you with me?
Will you stand by my side forever?
Today is now, just us here together.
Tomorrow we will wait and see.

This poem brings back memories of the first throws of love...when everything is possible, but nothing is for certain...

So much fearful doubt!
All beginning relationships go thru these thoughts. One day at a time-

Thank you so much for reading my poems. Things start and things send and you never know when.

Jamie:
Thanks for seeing the beginning and ending
of a mothers and child’s relation.

When I first read this, I thought was a love poem between a man and a woman...and I suppose it could be. But after I looked at the picture with it, I realized it could also be the expression of love between a child and his mother.

Well written, Ellis...thanks:~)

Ahhh, yes indeed, each day of romantic love sometimes a "wait and see."

I really liked this one, the softer side of Jack, perhaps?

Hi, Ellis!

I should clarify. I didn't mean your poem is "so awful." I meant the beginnings of love ... It's that feeling I think we all have where we wonder where things are going to go, if they're going to go. The insecurity.

It's a fine poem.

Your are so right it was between a mother and child. Yet the way I wrote it it could be either one.

I, too, at first, thought of it as a man-woman love, but the other comments made me think of the love I have for my kids.

Thank you, Ellis, for the sweet rainbow on this foggy day.
