As I try to do battle in this coliseum
of life facing trials and setbacks.
It's gladiators hammering me
from all sides with out mercy.
I can see in the far distance
a light in your eyes, a light of hope.
There in your heart is a place of rest,
a place I can feel safe.
In these darkest hours I find that hope.
In you I find inner strength and dignity
Because of you I can go on in this life.
This fight for life I know someday
will end, but till then thank you.

Good poem! A Thumbs up from this Ceasar.
It helps to have loved ones in mind at those dark times.
Snaggle Tooth:
Thanks again and again and again.
Life does seem like a battle sometimes and it is lovely when there is a special someone there to help you get through it.
Lynn:
Yes tomorrow is always brighter with a little sunshine.
Doing battle for a cause (or a heart) seems the most noble battle, Ellis.
I really like this one. It's so full of love and recognizes how important some people can be to helping us get through the battles of life:~)
Thanks for sharing this, Ellis~
Ooo, Ellis you are so Russell Crowe today in this!
Gladiator is one of my fave movies. (Master & Commander is too!)
Lovely sentiments of perseverance and hope in this!

Well ain't that the pits!
You know what I hate, when you are fighting off the lions and tigers and your sandal breaks. I really hate that!
